Future Robotics Sessions, and Update about leadership
Hello Everyone!
Just wanted to update you on a couple of things:
Firstly, we still have a long ways to go on our robotics project! As of yet, we are still waiting on a kit, and working with the pieces that Yolande has provided for us. However, there's still a lot we can do, and every minute spent helps. We're meeting every Thursday from 3-5PM in Sierra Hall, Room 102 (Professor DeAngelis' lab). Although this includes weeks we are meeting as a club, we will cut the build sessions short one half hour in order to make way for meeting times.
Our second order of business is in regards to leadership. We're looking for anyone interested in any positions available to our group (including, in all, President, Vice President, ICC Representative, Treasurer, and Secretary). No spot is unavailable, and if nothing else, we need an ICC Rep, Treasurer, and Secretary. Forms for nominations are available here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1SbxWJJDAvQJwkggF-2pGBNJAG9cX6ZgWyFk2qYqIRmo/viewform?usp=send_form. NOTE: NOMINATIONS ARE GOING ON ONLY THROUGH NEXT THURSDAY, AND WE WILL BE VOTING ON NEW LEADERSHIP NEXT THURSDAY, JANUARY 28TH, IN OUR MEETING. IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND, WE WILL STILL SEND OUT A VOTING FORM BY THEN, AND FINAL VOTES WILL BE CAST ON THE AFOREMENTIONED THURSDAY.
A final point of order is in regards to T-shirts. It was voted on last week to order a bulk shipment of our very first custom tees, utilizing $300 of the club's current money and replenishing that money through members' payments of their own tees, established to be priced at $20 per shirt. Design is here: (http://www.rushordertees.com/my-account/NzMwNDQ3), and they will be great for when we want to represent our club! The club will be able to accept both cash and card for current pre-orders, and if you'd personally like one, it may help to have your shirt size! Just reply to this email with your size and we'll be sure to order one for you.
Thank you all for being part of our growing process!
Sincerely,
Siegfried Guentensperger

Update for 1/14 meeting
Hello everyone!
I'm looking forward to seeing new faces tomorrow, and wanted to ensure that everyone has the meeting agenda in case it hasn't been seen yet. Also, a note about our robotics sessions- we're permitted to use Sierra 102 from 3PM-4:30 on Thursdays, if people want to continue working on the robot, which is in much need of advancement. If anybody has any questions, feel free to let us know!
Thank you,
Siegfried

future robotics sessions
Hello again!
We have new robotics sessions. Thanks to the gracious gesture that Professor DeAngeles has extended towards us, we're able to use the electronics lab in Sierra 102 for the next two weeks, Mondays through Thursdays, form 9AM - 12PM (noon). Due to red tape, these sessions cannot be considered meetings, and are not officially related to our club in any way. however, we'll still be learning, and I truly believe these sessions will let us get ahead with our progress on this project. If you'd like to attend, you need do nothing more than come to that lab between the assigned times. I look forward to seeing you there, as do our fellow officers.
Sincerely,
Siegfried Guentensperger, President

Robotics Training session 1
Hi all,
Just wanted to let you know that we have solidified our first robotics training session for Monday, 12/14. We'll be holding session from 12PM-4PM, and Yolande Petersen will be arriving slightly early to speak with those of you who have to leave early. The address is 5416 Ratto Way, in Salida (95368). We'll also be having a potluck-style lunch, so if you're able, please bring a small lunch item, and enjoy lunch with us! As a productive note, Instructors DeAngelis and Howen will be attending also, since their expertise on Robotics will be useful. I also have a few robotics informational documents attached below- if you'd like to educate yourself before the session, these will be the same documents we'll look at when we meet.
If anyone has any questions, don't hesitate to email, comment, or text the FEMJC remind number.
Hope to see everyone the on Monday!
-Siegfried G.

Meeting Minutes from 11/30
Hello Everyone,
In our last meeting we discussed the need to meet more often for our robotics project. Many of our members are also looking to find out more about the robotics kits we’ll be using for our robot, so we’ve devised two days during the break to help people get familiarized with them. For those of you who have the time and want to do some early research, the type of kit we’ll be the Vex Robotics Classroom Set, a great resource to start looking into these things can be found at: http://www.education.rec.ri.cmu.edu/products/cortex_video_trainer/:
Note: These sessions build on each other, so if you’d like to attend both, please vote for both polls.
Session 1 Poll: http://doodle.com/poll/ey2n8hck6vsi7sd6
Season 2 Poll: http://doodle.com/poll/75i5bgvkb955cfrw
Other than that, we’re still waiting on our kit to arrive, and are moving to make our meetings a permanent 4:30PM on biweekly Thursdays for next semester, and may be having some members attend eTECH club meetings for Robotics progress; however, more details will still come.
NOTE: We are still looking for volunteers for the robotics competition this Saturday in the MSR building on West Campus. This will give our club much needed community service hours. If interested, please contact Yolande Petersen at [email protected]. Thank you!
Click here for full meeting minutes.
Thank you all, and have a great rest of the semester!
Sincerely,
Siegfried Guentensperger, Club President

Update, 11/1/2015
Hello all,
Just a reminder, we do have a meeting tomorrow evening, November 2, at 5pm in the Science Community Center, Room 351 (the dome room). Club leadership will be hosting a Coffee-and-Donut social setting, as to generate a piqued interest in our upcoming events. Specifically of note:
Meeting days/times: FE Club meetings are proposed to change to Thursday evenings biweekly, in order to compensate for members who are busy on Monday evenings (typically in a lab class session). A doodle poll will also be established by tomorrow.
Robotics Project Team: In case you weren't sure, we are in collaboration with the e.T.E.C.H. Club for a $1500 dollar robotics project, and we've been asked to brainstorm specifics on the project! Initial discussions are open to all club attendees tomorrow, but a more dedicated team of engineers will be helpful to have for the details of the project later down the line.
Inter-Club Games: The first Inter-Club Game will be held on Friday, November 20th. Please RSVP by meeting on 11/16 in order to participate. Details on the event are attached in this email.
Please feel free to respond to this address if you have any questions or concerns, we're glad to clarify/accommodate. In any case, we hope to see you tomorrow!
All the best,
Siegfried G, President
